    Fisher Price Toxic Chemicals

A recent study led by Duke University found that 100% of mothers and children tested were positive for TDCIPP, a common flame retardant in furniture and a likely carcinogen. The average concentration in children was nearly five times that of their moms.

Animal studies have shown TDCIPP to cause tumors in multiple organs, and TDCIPP is listed in California as a carcinogen and labeled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission as a "probable carcinogen."

Fisher Price makes almost every product for infants imaginable, including high chairs, infant swings, and booster seats, but since Fisher Price has not committed to removing the toxic carcinogen from its products, it exposes millions of children to likely carcinogenic materials.

Flame retardants like TDCIPP aren’t necessary for furniture -- they became prevalent after tobacco companies tried blaming flammable furniture for cigarette fires instead of making safer, self-extinguishing cigarettes. But now that such cigarettes are common, flame retardants in furniture are a key source of toxic indoor air pollution.
